Hello! We are often asked where you can donate those items you’ve created but don’t necessarily have a recipient in mind. (The pattern you really wanted to make but wasn’t for anyone…) The question recently came up again so we thought a blog full of suggestions might be helpful.

First and foremost: The ImagiKnit Yarn Shop Giving Tree! Each holiday season we put the Giving Tree in the front of the shop. Items we collect from our fabulous customers are then donated to a local charity. Examples of past recipients include Youth Emergency Services (YES) and The Hope Center For Kids.

There are many charitable organizations focusing on different groups. If you would like to support the military, Operation Gratitude or Warmth for Warriors might be an option for you. There are multiple organizations that support a variety of health issues: Cancer, Alzheimers, HIV/AIDS, and Premature babies, just to name a few. If you have a passion for a particular cause it is likely you will find a match for your knitted or crocheted creations. The article links listed below all contain the names of organizations who would be happy to receive your creations.
