Come give a huge Omaha welcome to Ali from Herd of Cats and Road Trip Sock Yarn, as she shares her hand-dyed fiber and yarn. She’s traveling from Denver and stopping for a brief time at ImagiKnit Yarn Shop for a trunk show, before continuing on her trip.
A dyer since 2018, the Herd of Cats yarn is inspired by the fur and eye color of adoptable pets from her local shelter. A portion of the sales of these yarns is donated to the shelter by Ali to help the animals during their stay at the shelter. How cool is that?!
Road Trip Sock Yarn, also developed in 2018, allows Ali to create fun and funky color play in her dyeing. Color inspiration is based on local interests she explores during road trip destinations. All colors are limited and rarely revisited.
Another fun fact – Ali won the 2024 Golden Scissors Award for Sustainability from the Craft Industry Alliance. The presentation was made at H & H (market) in Chicago. This was awarded based on her self-campaign to improve her environmental impacts in the process of dyeing yarn.
We hope you can make it out on Thursday!
